The Central Saloon

N.I. Score: 1.7

Tragedy!

I try hard to avoid horrible tasting food but occasionally they do slip through.

A group of friends and I were attending a show held at The Central and just wanted some snacks to occupy our time.  We knew that we aren't likely to find great food there, but I suggested, "Tater Tots.  They can't screw that up.  They'd get some from Costco and bake them, right?"

Nope.  It was probably too dark and I didn't see the prefix "Homemade".
When they came out, I asked, "Why are the Tater Tots 2 times larger than they normally are?"  Apparently they made these themselves.

I cautiously took a first bite, and showed my disgust as many red flags arose-

  • The breading was soggy.
  • The garlic mash potatoes were non-uniform in texture.
  • The garlic flavor was too dominant, and seemed separate from the bland potatoes.

After the first bite I left the entire dish.  A brave? friend was willing to give it a try- "It tastes okay with a lot of ranch."

So congratulations, Risotto from Purple, you are no longer the candidate for the worst food in the universe.
This is.
