Willie Mae's Scotch House

N.I. Score: 7.8

America's Best Fried Chicken [Their own words]- I think it's a bit controversial to rate fried chicken.  Everyone has their preferences- battered, floured, how it's fried, how thick is the crust, how crispy is the crust, how much flavoring it should have, etc.  But as an aspiring food critic, I have to take a side, independent of what others think.  To date, I have not had better fried chicken than Ezell's.  I want to add the context that I don't think Ezell's is the best and I think the best is still out there [but I haven't done a fried chicken tour [probably a good thing].
But this is pretty good- a moderate amount of crunchy crust, salted, and moist on the inside.
This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall place in the middle of nowhere.  There's a line outside the house so it seems the locals enjoy it.

Restaurant R'evolution

N.I. Score: 7.0

Oysters on the Half Shell R'evolution Style- Perhaps this isn't a fair score- I've grown to like eating oysters as-is to experience the taste of the waters.  The oysters are favored with cucumber lemon granita and tangerine salsa.  These flavors dominates the taste of the oysters [which would be okay if the flavors are amazing, but unfortunately they aren't remarkable].

N.I. Score: 7.7

Beer-battered Crab Beignets- I'd definitely recommend trying Beignets if you are in NOLA.  They are these tasty fried doughs coated with sugar.  In this dish they have added crab, which turned out great, kinda like a crabcake but with different texture.  It comes with 4 dipping sauces but unfortunately I didn't catch all their names.  One of them was really good.

N.I. Score: 6.7

Filet Mignon cooked medium rare- Unfortunately unremarkable.

N.I. Score: 7.2

White Chocolate Bread Pudding Creme Brulee

N.I. Score: 7.8

Breaux Bridge Benedict with Fried Oysters- As you can probably tell from the picture, this is a pretty rich and heavy dish.  The poached eggs and cheese melts over the french bread and ham, creating a soft and lubricated feel.  The fried oysters are a great addition as it adds a crunchy exterior with the soft oysters inside.  It's a bit too rich for me to warrant an 8, but I can definitely eat this from time to time.
